Just finished our off leash e-collar training with Cody and I can’t say enough how well it went! My 8 mo old male Golden Retriever pup was a tad bit hard headed and tough to train. After the very first session I felt we broke through a magic wall, and it’s been downhill and amazing ever since! Cody’s trainings are fun, laid back but very engaging for you and your pup. Cody is the best trainer that I have ever worked with. My partner and I were having trouble with our 5-year-old Airedale terrier (bullying other dogs, leash aggression, general domineering behavior). We tried working with other trainers in town, but we felt like none of them understood the problems we were having and their techniques were ultimately ineffective and even counterproductive to our situation. The unmitigated random negative interactions were stressful enough to cause us to almost stop taking our dog out into the world. Everything changed after our first lesson with Cody. He immediately understood our situation and gave us tangible steps to improve our dog’s behavior. After the first session, or dog was noticeably better and she continued to improve each day with the practice exercises that Cody recommended. After a few sessions with Cody, we are taking our dog to places that we wouldn’t have dreamed of a few months ago (the Kim Williams trail, Blue Mountain, pet night at Dairy Queen). Our dog has remained the same loyal, affectionate, and goofy friend that she has always been but we now have more control over her bad tendencies. In addition to his skill understanding and modifying dog behavior, Cody was very generous with his time and always available to meet on short notice. I cannot recommend him enough!

There is a reason why every single review for Cody is 5 stars. He really is wonderful, and we humans and our dogs are lucky to have him in Missoula. My husband and I worked with Cody with our young Cavalier/Springer mix Greta on her off leash. Cody trained us humans more than he trained Greta, because that is what was necessary. Among other things, he taught us how to use the E Collar. It is a training necessity with a dog as driven for squirrels and birds as ours, and does not harm her in the SLIGHTEST. She LOVES when we put the E Collar on her because it means we are going to have FUN! Cody also taught me about being more confident about the things that I was worried about. Without a long, rambling review about our specific dog, I just want to share that Cody is an intelligent and kind person who REALLY knows dogs. Both Greta, and my husband and I, are so much happier now that she’s reliable off leash. I was convinced it would take us months and months, and it only took us 3 sessions for her to understand how she needs to behave in order to keep having fun. She comes when she’s called, she heels, she gets it. She’s such an awesome dog and we love her so much, and working with Cody allowed us to build the foundation to help us reach our potential with her. I believe he can help you and your dog, too. In just one training, we learned so much about our pups. Cody has a wealth of information and expertise. After the first lesson Cody taught us how to train our dogs from jumping. Second lesson, they are learning leash training and doing so good! The Versa leashes are a game changer! I learned a huge part of dog training is learning about your dog’s behavior and personality.
